IT Systems Administrator (AWS/Microsoft)

Location: Onsite in Alameda, California or Albuquerque, New Mexico

Salary: $108,700–$127,900 per year for employees working onsite at the Alameda headquarters.

What you will do

• Administer, maintain, secure, and optimize AWS, SaaS, Microsoft, and on-premises infrastructure and services.
• Support Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, DNS, DHCP, file services, identity management, and SSO integrations.
• Develop and improve automation and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, PowerShell, AWS CLI, or similar technologies.
• Monitor system health, performance, security, and availability, and troubleshoot complex infrastructure, cloud, identity, and application issues.
• Implement patch management, vulnerability remediation, least-privilege access, and other security controls.
• Support business-critical applications, integrations, upgrades, migrations, deployments, documentation, and knowledge sharing with stakeholders, vendors, and junior IT staff.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience as a Systems Administrator, Cloud Administrator, Site Reliability Engineer, or similar in a complex enterprise environment.
• Strong experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, identity management, and SSO integrations.
• Experience administering AWS infrastructure, including EC2, IAM, VPC, Route 53, Systems Manager, FSx, and CloudWatch.
• Working knowledge of Linux administration in AWS and hybrid-cloud environments, plus strong PowerShell and AWS CLI scripting skills.
• Knowledge of networking, databases, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, cybersecurity, vulnerability management, and change management.
• Work authorization and access to the facility may be subject to Department of Energy Part 810 export-control requirements.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 8 or more years of overall IT experience.
• Terraform, Ansible, Nutanix AHV, advanced Windows Server and Active Directory, API, SQL, and reporting-platform experience.
• Experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, laboratory, or quality-focused organizations and high-growth technology transformations.
• Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment.
