Sr. Specialist, Supplier Management (Automotive)

Location: Onsite in Novi, Michigan, or Charlotte, North Carolina, with 4–5 days of office attendance and approximately 80% domestic and international travel.

Salary: $110,000–$135,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Lead supplier readiness and industrialization assessments covering manufacturing capabilities, tooling, process maturity, and operational preparedness.
• Drive supplier development initiatives across multiple vehicle programs from pre-production through mass production.
• Identify supplier, manufacturing, logistics, capacity, quality, and supply continuity risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Lead cross-functional supplier performance reviews focused on cost, quality, delivery, capacity, and operational excellence.
• Apply APQP, PPAP, Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, supplier assessments, and audits to improve launch readiness.
• Advise Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Logistics, and Program Management teams and communicate readiness metrics to leadership.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in supplier development, supplier quality, procurement, manufacturing engineering, launch management, or a related automotive field.
• Expertise leading supplier readiness and industrialization activities across multiple suppliers, manufacturing processes, and vehicle programs.
• Advanced experience with APQP, PPAP, Supplier Readiness Reviews, Manufacturing Readiness Assessments, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong understanding of automotive manufacturing systems, supplier qualification, industrialization, and launch management.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and stakeholder-influence skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related field; at minimum, a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
