Aircraft Architecture & Integration Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: San Jose, California, United States; domestic travel may be required.

Base pay: $172,800–$237,600 per year.

What you will do

• Lead development and optimization of complete aircraft structural layouts and subsystem integration.
• Own zonal management of digital mock-ups, including space allocation, mounting strategies, routing envelopes, accessibility, and maintainability.
• Manage interface requirements models, master geometry models, aircraft configuration, hardware pedigrees, and version control.
• Conduct trade studies focused on system integration, mass efficiency, and flight performance.
• Support assembly test planning and validation, analyze test data, and implement design improvements.
• Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, and quality teams on integration decisions, supplier selection, qualification, and inspection requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of full-vehicle systems integration and interface management experience in aerospace or automotive.
• Experience generating Bills of Materials and managing engineering change control.
• Proficiency in CAD modeling, preferably NX, 2D drawings, tolerance analysis, and GD&T; experience with large assembly models and in-context modeling is strongly preferred.
• Understanding of mass budgeting, configuration management, systems integration, and aerospace structural manufacturing processes.

• Experience with prototype development and experimental flight test vehicles.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and design practices for separating flight-critical and non-critical systems.
