Machine Learning Engineer (Active TS/SCI Clearance)

Location: Hybrid/on-site at customer locations in Fort Belvoir, Virginia, United States; travel up to 15% required

Salary: $140,000–$190,000 per year, plus equity grants and cash bonuses.

What you will do

• Develop machine learning models, custom analytics, and mission-critical solutions for image, video, text, geospatial, time-series, structured, and other data.
• Contribute to customer-driven projects and hirify.global’ enduring AI products.
• Orchestrate complex data engineering pipelines in agentic and traditional architectures.
• Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and DevOps engineers.
• Help shape the future of the Chariot AI operations platform through production deployments and direct customer contact.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI security clearance and US citizenship required.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, machine learning, or a related discipline, plus 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in Python and libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and/or scikit-learn.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and proficiency in at least one systems programming language, such as Go, Rust, C++, Java, or Scala.
• Experience contributing to data-centric systems, including data engineering, data cleaning, ETL pipelines, machine learning, or production analytics.
• Exposure to modern software engineering tools and processes.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree in data science, machine learning, computer science, or a related discipline.
• Knowledge of client-server architectures and design patterns.
• Experience deploying software in containerized or cloud environments using Docker, Kubernetes, or similar tools.
• Experience applying machine learning to unstructured data or building agentic systems.
