Staff Full Stack Engineer (AI)

Location: United States; remote-first, with potential U.S. government security clearance and eligibility for access to export-controlled information under EAR and ITAR.

Target salary: $172,724–$227,135 per year.

What you will do

• Define the architecture and technical roadmap for the core web platform across multiple engineering teams.
• Drive development across Go, React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and Redis.
• Set organization-wide standards for AI coding agents, including Claude Code, Cursor, and similar tools.
• Lead internal tooling, testing infrastructure, and quality strategy for frontend and backend systems.
• Make architectural decisions for REST and WebSocket APIs based on strong networking fundamentals.
• Partner with security, compliance, and product leadership; mentor senior engineers and shape the open-source codebase.

Requirements

• Senior full-stack development experience with Go and React or a comparable stack, including ownership of complex systems end-to-end.
• Experience designing distributed systems or high-availability services at scale.
• Experience designing and consuming REST and WebSocket APIs, with solid networking fundamentals.
• Relational database experience with PostgreSQL, schema design, and query optimization.
• Daily hands-on fluency directing AI coding agents for scaffolding, refactoring, code review, and test generation.
• U.S. federal eligibility and eligibility for access to export-controlled information may be required.

Nice to have

• Staff, principal, or technical lead experience; open-source project maintenance.
• Familiarity with FedRAMP, ITAR, or other defense and government compliance frameworks.
• Experience scaling engineering standards and practices across a growing organization.
• Background in defense, intelligence, or critical infrastructure products.
• Experience building MCP servers, agent skills, or CI-integrated AI agents.
