Senior Fullstack Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in New York City; candidates must reside in New York or be able to commute to the New York City office at least three days per week, Tuesday through Thursday.

Salary: $200,000–$260,000 per year plus equity.

What you will do

• Architect and ship full-stack features from technical scoping and design through production.
• Build AI-powered product surfaces, including intelligent intake flows, constituent assistants, automated case routing, and agency dashboards.
• Set technical direction, establish scalable engineering patterns, and raise code quality.
• Work directly with federal agency stakeholders to turn complex requirements into shippable products.
• Own platform reliability and performance at government scale.
• Mentor earlier-career engineers through code reviews, pairing, and technical feedback.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional engineering experience owning complex features and systems.
• Deep experience with React, Next.js, Node.js, TypeScript, and Postgres.
• Practical experience shipping software with AI coding tools such as Cursor, Copilot, or Claude.
• Demonstrated ability to define problems, operate in ambiguity, and take ownership of product or system decisions.
• Experience building a real product, open-source project, or system held to production standards.
• Must reside in New York or be able to commute to the New York City office at least three times per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with federal, state, or local government technology or other regulated, high-stakes environments.
• Cloud deployment experience with AWS, Vercel, GitHub Actions, or ECS/Fargate.
• Experience with design systems and component libraries.
• Technical leadership experience in an early-stage environment.
