TL;DR
CMS Fullstack Engineer (Headless CMS): Implementing and extending headless CMS platforms and building scalable front-end components with an accent on content modeling and API integration. Focus on architecting editor-friendly CMS schemas, developing reusable React/Next.js components, and integrating third-party e-commerce and analytics tools.
Location: Hybrid (3 days/week in Chicago office) or Remote for candidates based in Mexico
Salary: $120,000 - $155,000 USD

What you will do
- Implement and extend headless CMS platforms such as Sanity, Contentstack, and Contentful.
- Develop reusable front-end components using React and Next.js consuming content via APIs.
- Build and maintain Node.js back-end services using REST and GraphQL APIs.
- Collaborate with content modeling teams to architect scalable, editor-friendly CMS schemas.
- Integrate third-party services, including e-commerce platforms, analytics, and personalization tools.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the internal engineering culture and technical planning.
Requirements
- 3-6 years of professional experience in full-stack JavaScript development.
- Proven hands-on experience with headless CMS platforms (Sanity, Contentstack, Contentful, or similar).
- Strong proficiency in React, Next.js, and Node.js.
- Experience with TypeScript, GitHub branching workflows, and CI/CD pipelines (Vercel, AWS).
- Familiarity with static site generation (SSG), incremental static regeneration (ISR), and SSR patterns.
- Must be based in Chicago for hybrid work or located in Mexico for remote work.
Nice to have
- Experience with Shopify or other e-commerce platform integrations.
- Exposure to traditional CMS platforms such as WordPress or Drupal.
- Experience working in an agency or consulting setting with multiple concurrent clients.
- Experience in Agentic development.
