CMS Fullstack Engineer

Location: Hybrid with 3 days per week in the Chicago office, or fully remote for candidates in Mexico

Salary: $120,000–$155,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Implement and extend headless CMS platforms such as Sanity, Contentstack, and Contentful.
• Develop reusable React or Next.js frontend components that consume content through APIs.
• Build and maintain Node.js backend services with REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Architect scalable, editor-friendly CMS schemas with content modeling teams.
• Integrate eCommerce, analytics, personalization, and other third-party services.
• Participate in code reviews, technical planning, sprint ceremonies, stakeholder communication, and mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

• 3–6 years of professional experience in full-stack JavaScript development.
• Hands-on experience with one or more headless CMS platforms, including Sanity, Contentstack, Contentful, or similar.
• Strong proficiency in React and Next.js, plus solid Node.js experience.
• Experience designing REST APIs and GraphQL APIs.
• Familiarity with static site generation, incremental static regeneration, SSR, TypeScript, GitHub workflows, CI/CD, and cloud deployments such as Vercel or AWS.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work across time zones in a consulting environment.

Nice to have

• Shopify or other eCommerce platform integration experience.
• Exposure to WordPress or Drupal.
• Familiarity with design systems and component libraries.
• Agency or consulting experience with multiple concurrent client engagements.
• Experience in agentic development.
