AR Collections Specialist (Healthcare)

What you will do

• Process incoming customer payments, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers.
• Monitor accounts receivable aging, follow up on overdue balances, and manage the end-to-end collections process.
• Reconcile customer accounts and resolve unapplied payments, short payments, credits, billing issues, and other discrepancies.
• Maintain customer account data, payment histories, collection notes, and supporting documentation.
• Collaborate with AR, Sales, and Customer Service to resolve billing and payment issues.
• Prepare collections reports and metrics covering aging, past-due balances, collection activity, and payment trends.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States for this remote role.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of experience in accounts receivable or collections.
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365, particularly Excel.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, confidentiality, and ability to work independently.

Nice to have

• Additional education or certification in accounting or finance.
• Experience with NetSuite.
