Billing & Collections Specialist

What you will do

• Prepare, review, and issue complex customer invoices, including recurring billing, contract amendments, and adjustments.
• Monitor customer accounts, manage collection efforts, follow up on overdue balances, and resolve payment delays.
• Own billing discrepancies and customer inquiries by investigating root causes and coordinating solutions across departments.
• Maintain collection records, payment promises, customer statements, and accurate account information.
• Support month-end close, accounts receivable completeness checks, bad debt analysis, aging reports, and collection trend reporting.
• Follow internal controls and accounting procedures, support compliance requirements, and provide documentation for audits.

Requirements

• Five years of accounts receivable experience focused on invoicing and collections.
• Advanced experience with accounts receivable, billing, and collections processes, preferably in a SaaS or subscription-based environment.
• Strong Microsoft Excel proficiency for reconciliations, reporting, and analysis.
• Working knowledge of tax concepts related to customer invoicing and the ability to resolve tax-related billing discrepancies.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, analytical thinking, independent work habits, and deadline management.
• Experience collaborating with finance and other internal departments to resolve complex billing and collections issues.

Nice to have

• Experience with NetSuite, Salesforce, Certinia, Concur, Navan, or Adobe.
