Plumbing Engineer (Early Career)

Location: San Diego, California, United States; on-site with remote Fridays. Hybrid workplace with up to 25% travel.

Salary: $70,000–$110,000 per year.

What you will do

• Design waste and vent, potable water, medical and laboratory piping, medical gas, and specialized healthcare plumbing systems.
• Provide engineering design, evaluation, planning, calculations, and equipment selection for complex facilities.
• Survey existing buildings and document existing plumbing systems.
• Prepare detailed design documents, reports, studies, specifications, and code compliance research.
• Coordinate plumbing design with other disciplines and provide construction administration services.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers while contributing to proposals, design standards, and project delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2–5 years of Mechanical Engineering experience.
• Proficiency with Autodesk tools, including Revit and Navisworks.
• Knowledge of project specifications, editing techniques, California Building Code, and HCAI requirements.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, communicate effectively, and coordinate across disciplines.
• Registration as an EIT or PE is preferred.
