Company

hirify.global Design Systems develops commercial engineering and simulation software used by aerospace, defense, and space organizations.

What you will do

  • Develop, verify, validate, and deploy aeroelastic and aerothermoelastic simulation capabilities from low-fidelity panel and lattice methods to high-fidelity CFD-based approaches.
  • Build solutions for flutter, divergence, control reversal, gust response, aeroservoelasticity, buffet response, limit-cycle oscillations, and nonlinear aeroelastic behavior.
  • Develop hypersonic and high-speed flight simulation methods covering aerothermodynamics, shock-wave interactions, thermal-structural coupling, and high-Mach stability and control.
  • Collaborate with structural dynamics, CFD, and multiphysics teams on integrated aerodynamic-structural workflows and large-scale finite element simulations.
  • Implement numerical algorithms, APIs, workflow automation, verification and validation processes, automated tests, and continuous integration for commercial scientific software.
  • Optimize engineering simulations using parallel computing, MPI, OpenMP, GPUs, accelerators, and cloud or distributed computing environments.

Requirements

  • U.S. person status meeting ITAR and EAR export-control requirements is required.
  • Ph.D. in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, applied mechanics, computational engineering, or a related field.
  • Research or equivalent graduate/postdoctoral experience in computational aeroelasticity, aerodynamics, CFD, structural dynamics, or multidisciplinary simulation.
  • Experience developing research software, computational tools, or numerical simulation capabilities and translating research concepts into engineering solutions.
  • Knowledge of aeroelasticity, aerodynamic methods, CFD fundamentals, structural dynamics, finite element methods, modal analysis, dynamic response, and eigenvalue analysis.
  • Programming experience in C++ and Python, with knowledge of scientific software engineering practices.

Nice to have

  • Research or publications focused on aerothermoelasticity, hypersonics, high-speed aeroelasticity, or computational aeroelasticity.
  • Experience with MSC Nastran, Abaqus, ZAERO, FUN3D, SU2, SCFLOW, Fidelity, Charles, Fluent, STAR-CCM+, CFD++, or equivalent tools.
  • Experience with multidisciplinary design optimization, reduced-order modeling, HPC environments, or large-scale simulations.
  • Experience leveraging AI for development or participating in collaborative aerospace research programs.

Culture & Benefits

  • Work with senior developers, technical experts, product teams, and aerospace customers.
  • Participate in the full software lifecycle from research prototype to commercial product deployment.
  • Paid vacation and holidays.
  • 401(k) plan with employer match and employee stock purchase plan.
  • Medical, dental, and vision plan options, with potential bonus and equity compensation.
