Location: Chantilly, Virginia, United States; field work and travel of 10–15% required.

Salary: $73,923.20–$131,331.20 USD annually.

What you will do

• Collect, process, analyze, and model geophysical data for underground facility characterization and WMD threat analysis.
• Develop data acquisition tests, test procedures, algorithms, and machine learning applications for geophysical datasets.
• Work with seismic, acoustic, acceleration, electromagnetic, and ground-penetrating radar sensors.
• Analyze large multimodal datasets and interpret results for DoD and Intelligence Community missions.
• Conduct outdoor field testing, document field activities and equipment status, and support field logistics.
• Prepare technical reports and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve program objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in geophysics, engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science, or a related physical science discipline, or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in data acquisition, test development, geophysical modeling, data processing, and interpretation.
• Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, R, or C/C++ and experience developing algorithms for geophysical data.
• Ability to work in outdoor field environments, travel 10–15%, lift and carry equipment weighing more than 50 pounds, and work flexible hours during field operations.
• Must be a U.S. citizen with a current Secret security clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain TOP SECRET/SCI clearance.
• Strong analytical, organizational, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in physical science or a related discipline.
• Experience supporting DoD or Intelligence Community projects.
• Experience with AI, machine learning, data analytics, field logistics, instrumentation, and mechanical or electrical troubleshooting.
• Professional certifications or memberships such as AGU or SEG, and forklift certification.
• Active TS/SCI clearance.
