Director - Strategic Debt Finance Asset Management (SDF AM)

Location: London, Birmingham, Edinburgh or Manchester, UK. Hybrid working requires at least two days per week, or 40% of working time, at an office site.

What you will do

• Manage a portfolio of complex leveraged and private equity-backed client relationships within a £3bn portfolio.
• Assess business sustainability, cash flows, market dynamics, credit quality and opportunities to improve portfolio returns.
• Lead annual credit reviews, lending requests and complex credit events, including covenant amendments, incremental facilities, bolt-on acquisitions and refinancing.
• Present recommendations to senior stakeholders and risk forums within demanding timeframes.
• Coach and develop colleagues, lead strategic projects and contribute to portfolio reporting.
• Build relationships with financial sponsors, advisers, banking partners and regulators.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of experience in leveraged finance and knowledge of LMA loan documentation.
• Strong experience analysing and interpreting financial information and presenting complex information clearly.
• Leadership experience managing and developing high-performing teams and contributing to strategic or portfolio initiatives.
• Experience leading highly leveraged corporate or private equity-backed portfolios, including sponsor-backed structures.
• Strong stakeholder management skills involving senior stakeholders, clients, sponsors and regulators such as the PRA.
• Strong credit assessment skills covering cash flow, business models and complex capital structures.
