Technical Specialist - SWORD (Aerospace)

Location: Space Coast, Florida, United States; hands-on work requires physical presence on the manufacturing and fabrication floor.

What you will do

• Collaborate with prototype engineers to rapidly design and manufacture development hardware.
• Support fabrication, assembly, integration, and testing for flight vehicles, propulsion systems, avionics, ground support equipment, and composite components.
• Operate CNC and manual equipment, troubleshoot manufacturing equipment, perform testing, and collect data.
• Bridge technical teams by applying hands-on expertise and clear written communication.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to technicians and fabricators while consulting with engineering teams.
• Investigate and implement new technical capabilities and manufacturing technologies.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment for complex products such as aerospace structures, space systems, or life support systems.
• Strong technical expertise in engineering or technology disciplines, including mechanical design and manufacturing fundamentals.
• Experience with design for manufacturing, CNC machining techniques, tool selection, work-holding, and equipment operation.
• Strong CAD, scheduling, issue tracking, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook skills.
• Ability to work with incomplete information, adapt quickly, collaborate effectively, and manufacture hardware as needed.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, refugee, or asylee lawfully admitted to the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience in rapid product development, aerospace manufacturing, or product development.
• Tooling and fixture design experience.
• Hands-on machining experience or familiarity with CNC programming.
• Broad manufacturing experience, including welding, assembly, instrumentation, cleaning, non-destructive testing, leak testing, fabrication, or machining.
• Experience with Siemens NX Designcenter.
