TL;DR
Spacecraft Technician (Aerospace): Assembling, integrating, and testing satellite buses and spacecraft systems with an accent on aerospace structures, avionics integration, harnessing, and precision alignment. Focus on conducting system-level functional and environmental tests, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems, and maintaining quality documentation for spacecraft manufacturing.

Location: Los Angeles, United States; on-site. Second-shift hours are 2:00 PM–10:30 PM with a 10% shift differential. U.S. Person status is required to access export-controlled data.

Salary: $37–$47 per hour for Level 3, plus a 10% shift differential.

What you will do

  • Perform assembly, integration, and testing activities for satellites and spacecraft according to engineering specifications, procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Complete structural assembly tasks including component installation, mechanical fastening, bonding, and precision alignment.
  • Integrate avionics, electronic components, sensors, and wiring harnesses, ensuring correct routing, connections, and functionality.
  • Conduct electrical continuity, power distribution, communication, sensor, and other system-level functional tests.
  • Participate in thermal vacuum, vibration, and shock testing, and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues with engineers and technicians.
  • Maintain assembly procedures, work instructions, quality records, test results, and anomaly documentation while supporting process improvements.

Requirements

  • U.S. Person status is required due to access to export-controlled data.
  • At least 5 years of experience in satellite or spacecraft assembly and integration, including aerospace structures, avionics integration, and harnessing.
  • Proficiency in precision assembly techniques such as mechanical fastening, bonding, and alignment.
  • Strong understanding of aerospace electrical systems, avionics, and wiring harnesses, with experience in functional testing and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with environmental testing, precision measurement tools, aerospace quality processes, engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and commitment to safety.
