TL;DR
Composite Technician, All Levels - E Shift (Aerospace): Building and assembling composite components for the Neutron launch vehicle structure with an accent on lamination, bonding, vacuum bagging, curing, and mechanical integration. Focus on fitting composite cores and thermal protection systems, establishing precise reference points, and producing flight hardware in a demanding aerospace manufacturing environment.

Location: Onsite at hirify.global's Space Structures Complex in Middle River, Maryland, United States. Monday–Thursday, 5:30 pm–4:00 am; extended hours, weekends, and varied shifts may be required. Candidates must meet U.S. ITAR eligibility requirements, including U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, qualifying refugee or asylum status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorizations.

Base pay range: $22–$55 USD per hour, depending on level, knowledge, skills, education, and experience.

hirify.global is an end-to-end space company building rockets, spacecraft, and critical subsystems, including the Neutron medium-lift launch vehicle.

What you will do

  • Build and assemble composite structures for the Neutron launch vehicle, including bonding and fastener installation.
  • Laminate assemblies and determine the correct placement of composite materials.
  • Prepare parts for vacuum bagging and perform vacuum bag processing, bonding, oven curing, and autoclave curing.
  • Fit honeycomb, foam, and syntactic cores, as well as refurbish thermal protection systems.
  • Integrate mechanical hardware and apply standard composite and aerospace manufacturing techniques.
  • Create basic layouts and verify dimensions using calipers, micrometers, precision scales, and torque wrenches.

Requirements

  • Composite production, military equipment maintenance, or mechanical troubleshooting, installation, and repair experience; required experience ranges from entry level to 8+ years depending on grade.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience using various hand and power tools.
  • Ability to stand and walk for an entire 8+ hour shift, climb ladders, work at height and in tight spaces, and perform repetitive physical movements.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment weighing up to 25 lb.
  • Must meet U.S. ITAR eligibility requirements for work in a U.S. office.

Nice to have

  • Core bonding and splicing experience.
  • Broad manufacturing industry experience.
  • At least one year of composite experience, preferably in aerospace.
  • Advanced prepreg manufacturing or resin infusion knowledge.
