Senior Software Engineer, Home Experience

Location: Remote - United States

Base salary: $190,000–$267,000 USD per year, plus potential equity and commission depending on the position.

What you will do

• Build user-facing products and features for Reddit feed pages across mobile applications and the website.
• Collaborate with product, design, engineering, and leadership partners to define roadmaps and deliver product goals.
• Own major projects through design, development, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch.
• Develop and implement backend service architecture supporting native mobile and web clients as part of a full-stack team.
• Improve developer workflows, recommend engineering best practices, review code and design documents, and mentor engineers.
• Drive metrics-led execution, operational excellence, and system observability.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience developing user-facing applications as a software engineer.
• Experience with one or more general-purpose programming languages, such as Python, Go, Swift, Kotlin, Rust, or C#.
• Fluency with product metrics and designing and analyzing experiments; experience with tools such as BigQuery, HEX, or Firebase.
• Experience using GenAI tools to improve software engineering productivity.
• Strong organizational, communication, user experience, and usability skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment.
• BS degree in Computer Science or a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Experience working with machine learning engineering teams and integrating ML solutions.
