Associate Buyer - Contract

Location: Milpitas, California, United States; on-site

What you will do

• Create accurate purchase orders for materials, parts, equipment, tooling, supplies, and services.
• Review and negotiate standard contract terms and coordinate with legal counsel on contracts and statements of work.
• Issue requests for quotation, analyze supplier responses, and select suppliers based on cost, schedule, and quality.
• Onboard suppliers by setting up accounts and entering supplier data into company systems.
• Manage open orders, resolve invoice issues, and support on-time, on-quality delivery and vendor payment.
• Provide timely updates to internal customers and follow procurement, intellectual property, export compliance, and safety requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• 0–2 years of experience in procurement or a related role.
• Experience with Google Workspace.
• Strong communication, collaboration, customer service, prioritization, problem-solving, and judgment skills.
• Ability to work for extended periods at a computer and on the phone or in teleconferences.
• Must follow safety requirements addressing hazards such as heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead, high voltage, and cryogenics.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with an ERP system, especially Odoo ERP.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment or technical procurement.
• Creative negotiating skills.
