SDK Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Europe, with engineering locations in Berlin, London, Munich, Paris, and Zurich; one week per month is expected in the Berlin office.

Salary: €90K–€160K excluding equity, with equity offered.

hirify.global is an open-source LLM engineering and observability platform for tracing, evaluation, prompt management, and building AI applications. It joined ClickHouse in January 2026 and supports more than 2,000 customers with over 26 million monthly SDK downloads.

What you will do

• Own the reliability, performance, interfaces, error handling, batching, asynchronous flushing, and graceful degradation of Python and TypeScript SDKs built on OpenTelemetry.
• Design developer-focused APIs, versioning strategies, backward-compatible changes, migration paths, and documentation.
• Maintain and expand integrations with major AI frameworks and model providers, including OpenAI, Vercel AI SDK, LangChain, LlamaIndex, Pydantic AI, CrewAI, and Amazon Bedrock AgentCore.
• Maintain the OpenTelemetry endpoint and support hirify.global features across Java, Go, and other OpenTelemetry-compatible languages.
• Write SDK documentation, integration guides, and upgrade paths as part of each SDK and integration release.
• Identify projects, propose solutions through RFCs, and deliver work end to end in collaboration with the engineering team and ClickHouse.

Requirements

• Experience building or maintaining SDKs, client libraries, or developer tools, ideally with Python and/or TypeScript.
• Strong understanding of performance profiling, benchmarking, and minimizing CPU and memory overhead in hot paths.
• Ability to design reliable code for other people's production systems and think carefully about APIs, versioning, backward compatibility, and migrations.
• Ability to manage projects independently and develop conviction about what to build and how to ship it.
• Interest in open-source software and willingness to engage with developers about integration challenges.
• Ability to thrive in a small, accountable, engineering-focused team; a computer science or quantitative degree is preferred.

• Experience with OpenTelemetry internals or observability instrumentation.
• Founder or early-stage startup experience.
• Contributions to popular open-source SDKs or developer tools.
• ML/AI experience or familiarity with the LLM framework ecosystem.
