Backend Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Seattle, WA, with preference for candidates within commuting distance of offices in San Francisco, Seattle, or New York City.

Salary: $180,000–$220,000 base salary per year, excluding equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Access, ingest, normalize, and validate customer data from ad networks, warehouses, and partner tools.
• Build and maintain long-running workflows, APIs, data pipelines, customer-facing UIs, and ingestion scripts.
• Contribute to AI MCP services owned by the Data Onboarding team.
• Partner with Customer Success to develop custom data models for customers.
• Participate in an on-call rotation.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience building backend services and APIs as a backend engineer, full-stack engineer, data engineer, or in a similar role.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL/dbt.
• Fluency with a modern orchestrator such as Dagster, Airflow, or Temporal.
• Experience with cloud data warehouses or lakehouses such as BigQuery or Databricks.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud or AWS.
• Ability to work in a hybrid setup, preferably within commuting distance of the San Francisco, Seattle, or New York City offices.

Nice to have

• Experience with React or other frontend frameworks.
• Experience with Fivetran, Airbyte, and Terraform.
• Experience integrating Shopify or Amazon Seller/Vendor platforms.
• Earlier-stage startup experience.
