TL;DR
Operations Research Analyst (Mathematical Modeling/Defense Logistics): Applying operations research methods, data analysis, and mathematical modeling to support logistics feasibility, munitions and fuels resupply, and campaign-level defense analysis with an accent on decision-support tools, simulations, and quantitative evaluation. Focus on developing and validating analytical models, exploring the impact of warfighting concepts on campaign outcomes, and communicating recommendations to defense customers.
Location: Onsite, split between the facility in Dayton, Ohio, and Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. Minimal travel and standard working hours.

What you will do
- Apply operations research, mathematical, quantitative, and qualitative analysis methods to support project objectives and decision-making.
- Analyze logistics feasibility, including munitions and fuels posture and resupply problem sets.
- Develop, evaluate, improve, and validate analytical models, simulations, visualizations, and decision-support tools.
- Conduct campaign-level modeling and simulation to assess the impact of warfighting concepts and capabilities on campaign outcomes.
- Prepare technical papers, briefings, and summary reports presenting findings and recommendations to customers and project teams.
- Identify opportunities to improve analytical methods and contribute solutions to complex national security problems.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree in operations research, mathematics, industrial engineering, or a related field.
- Fundamental knowledge of scientific methods and analytical techniques applied to systems and software.
- Experience with at least one analytical or statistical language or tool, such as Python, R, MATLAB, SAS, VBA, Java, SimPy, Simio, Gurobi, or JMP.
- Basic experience developing or using analytical models with Python, R, or C++ through coursework, internships, or projects.
- Ability to interpret problems, recommend effective solutions, and quickly learn customer missions and systems.
- Ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret clearance.
Nice to have
- MS degree in operations research, mathematics, industrial engineering, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience applying scientific methods to systems analysis.
- Familiarity with DoD systems, weapon subsystem design, military operations, or military logistics.
- Active DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance.
- Experience designing analytical models with Python, R, and/or C++ and applying new analytical techniques.
