ECAD Librarian (Robotics)

What you will do

• Create, validate, and maintain schematic symbols, PCB footprints, pad stacks, and 3D models in Altium.
• Ensure component data, metadata, revision history, and manufacturing details are accurate and aligned with supplier documentation.
• Apply IPC-7351, JEDEC, DFM, and DFA standards to component libraries and releases.
• Define naming conventions, templates, parameter schemas, lifecycle states, permissions, and part-request workflows.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, supply chain, and contract manufacturing teams on technical data and board bring-up.
• Maintain ECAD-to-PLM integration and automate routine library tasks with scripting.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with Altium Designer.
• Knowledge of IPC land-pattern principles, IPC-A-610, JEDEC standards, DFM, and DFA.
• Strong understanding of electronic components, package drawings, datasheets, pinouts, land patterns, and PCB fabrication and assembly constraints.
• Experience with component templates, naming conventions, parameter schemas, revision control, lifecycle states, permissions, and part-request workflows.
• Experience with PLM systems such as Arena or Windchill and ECAD-to-PLM integration.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field; an associate degree plus equivalent experience or equivalent practical experience may substitute. Requires 2–5+ years of experience in ECAD library management, component engineering, or PCB design.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Cadence Allegro or Mentor/Xpedition.
• Scripting experience with Python or Perl for library automation.
