What you will do
- Own the complete PCB layout lifecycle for complex multilayer boards across active product lines.
- Manage the electronics component library in InvenTree, including metadata, symbols, and footprints.
- Lead the evaluation and migration to a new industry-standard ECAD tool.
- Review layouts created by internal electrical engineers and external engineering contractors.
- Develop and maintain EDRC guidelines for routing, stack-ups, and design constraints.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers and EMS partners on DFM and DFA for prototype and serial production.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related technical field, with at least 5 years of hands-on electronics design and PCB layout experience in industrial applications.
- Expert proficiency in at least one industry-standard ECAD tool, such as Altium, KiCad, or Cadence.
- Experience designing complex multilayer PCBs under functional safety and EMI/EMC compliance requirements.
- Strong knowledge of signal integrity, high-speed routing, controlled impedance, length matching, and return path optimization.
- Extensive experience with DFM/DFA constraints and direct collaboration with EMS partners.
- Strong ownership of component creation, database cleanliness, and library management.
Nice to have
- Experience with rigid-flex PCB designs or wireless technology layouts.
- Experience or interest in explosion-proof electronics for hazardous environments.
- Participation in an ECAD tool or component library migration project.
- Background in aerospace, military, or highly ruggedized industrial electronics.
