ECAD Librarian (Altium)

Location: Boston, Massachusetts, United States; work is on-site.

What you will do

• Own the Altium Designer component library, creating and maintaining schematic symbols, PCB footprints, and 3D models.
• Enforce standards for symbol sizing, footprint conventions, reference designators, naming, and component data.
• Manage component lifecycle states from Draft through Preliminary to Production.
• Verify manufacturer part numbers, approved alternates, Part Choices, pinouts, package dimensions, and footprint data against datasheets.
• Support where-used traceability, bulk library cleanup, component requests, and communication of library changes across EE teams.
• Help align Altium component data with Teamcenter, PLM processes, supply chain workflows, and the company part-numbering scheme.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with Altium Designer, including schematic library and PCB footprint creation.
• Strong attention to detail when cross-referencing datasheets, pin counts, pad geometry, and package dimensions.
• Familiarity with component lifecycle and PLM concepts, including released states and where-used traceability.
• Understanding of reference designators, component tolerances, AEC-Q200 grading, and approved manufacturer or supplier alternates.
• Ability to work across distributed Boston and London EE teams and prioritize incoming library requests.

Nice to have

• Experience with Altium 365 or Managed Components.
• Experience with Teamcenter or another PLM system, including ECAD library integration with PLM or ERP.
• Experience in a hardware startup or fast-scaling engineering organization.
