Head of Commercial/Business Banking Sales, Lending & Credit Technology

Location: Buffalo, New York, United States; relocation to Buffalo is required for this hybrid role.

Salary: $201,200–$335,300 annual (USD)

What you will do

• Define and execute the technology roadmap for Commercial and Business Banking sales, lending, and credit platforms.
• Lead multiple engineering teams building, integrating, modernizing, and supporting critical banking systems.
• Deliver sales enablement, lending origination, underwriting, decisioning, credit workflow, onboarding, servicing, and digital relationship-management capabilities.
• Drive cloud-enabled modernization, workflow automation, straight-through processing, platform simplification, and AI-enabled delivery practices.
• Partner with Commercial Banking, Business Banking, Sales, Lending, Credit, Risk, Operations, Data, Cybersecurity, and executive stakeholders.
• Oversee delivery timelines, budgets, resources, reliability, resiliency, vendor relationships, governance, compliance, and team development.

Requirements

• Minimum 15 years of combined higher education and/or work experience, including at least 4 years in engineering or architecture and 11 years in large technology management or program leadership.
• At least 5 years of management experience leading technical teams and senior technology leaders.
• Deep knowledge of Commercial or Business Banking technology, including sales, lending, credit, origination, underwriting, decisioning, servicing, and workflow platforms.
• Experience delivering complex multi-system initiatives across business and technology stakeholders and leading teams in a matrixed environment.
• Strong knowledge of SDLC, architecture, integration patterns, enterprise delivery practices, Agile methodologies, and large-scale modernization.
• Experience with modern engineering practices such as cloud, APIs, microservices, DevOps, and platform modernization.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Financial services experience, particularly in Commercial Banking, Business Banking, Lending, or Credit.
• Experience with Scaled Agile Framework, data center migration, hosting transformation, or infrastructure modernization.
• Strong executive communication, presentation, problem-solving, and business-to-technology translation skills.
