Backend Engineer (Java)

Location: Remote within the United States; the listed location is Madison, Wisconsin.

Salary: $130,000–$150,000 per year

What you will do

• Operate and enhance an enterprise government system supporting critical federal acquisition and assistance functions.
• Design, code, test, debug, deploy, and document software in an agile environment.
• Build and maintain enterprise applications with other Software Engineers, DevOps Engineers, UX Researchers and Designers, and Product Managers.
• Collaborate through pair programming, ensemble programming, and swarming.
• Address a wide range of technical problems and deliver software in small, demonstrable increments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of development experience in enterprise environments.
• At least 5 years of experience with Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and batch processing frameworks.
• Experience writing high-quality code efficiently and applying Test-Driven Development.
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Agile development experience and a collaborative, feedback-oriented mindset.
