Treasury Management, Card Technology, Engineering Director (Fintech)

Location: Buffalo, New York, United States of America; relocation to Buffalo is required for this hybrid role.

Salary: $201,200–$335,300 annual (USD).

What you will do

• Define and execute the technology roadmap for Treasury Management, Corporate Card, Merchant Card, and digital commercial banking products.
• Lead approximately 60 engineers across teams building, integrating, and supporting critical Commercial Banking platforms.
• Deliver payments, receivables, liquidity, fraud, pricing, onboarding, processing, rewards, servicing, portal, and cash management capabilities.
• Modernize legacy platforms with cloud-enabled technologies, improve straight-through processing, and expand digital capabilities.
• Oversee delivery timelines, budgets, resources, performance, reliability, scalability, vendor relationships, and product ecosystems.
• Partner with Commercial, Retail, Small Business, Risk, Audit, Compliance, and senior technology stakeholders.

Requirements

• At least 15 years of combined higher education and work experience, including 4 years in engineering or architecture and 11 years in large technology management or program leadership.
• At least 5 years of managerial experience leading technical teams and multiple business-domain teams.
• Deep understanding of Treasury Management, Payments, Card Technology, or Digital Banking platforms.
• Experience delivering complex, multi-system initiatives using SDLC, architecture, integration patterns, and Agile methodologies.
• Ability to influence business and technology stakeholders and translate business strategy into technical execution.
• Relocation to Buffalo, NY is required; the position is hybrid.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Financial services experience, particularly in Commercial Banking or Payments.
• Experience with cloud, APIs, microservices, DevOps, and Scaled Agile Framework.
• Experience supporting Commercial, Retail, and Small Business lines of business.
• Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and executive presentation skills.
