Director, Global Cost Accounting (SAP)

Location: Waltham, Massachusetts, United States

Salary: $155,272–$238,000 gross annual base salary, plus eligible variable cash compensation and potential equity.

What you will do

• Lead the enterprise-wide inventory and COGS close process, improving accuracy, controls, efficiency, and financial integrity.
• Partner with Operations, FP&A, and Finance leadership on manufacturing performance, cost drivers, forecasting, and margin optimization.
• Own the standard cost framework, including annual cost rolls and validation of material, labor, and overhead assumptions.
• Deliver executive-level gross margin analysis and translate product-line performance and variances into profitability strategies.
• Establish inventory governance through physical inventory and cycle count programs, while overseeing global inventory analytics and reporting.
• Lead SAP cost accounting enhancements and M&A integration, standardizing processes across acquired entities and supporting scalable growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive cost and inventory accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, including leadership responsibilities.
• Deep expertise in standard costing, inventory valuation, manufacturing operations, U.S. GAAP, and cost of goods sold.
• Experience leading, developing, and scaling high-performing teams with a focus on accountability and continuous improvement.
• Advanced analytical and technical skills, including expert Excel capabilities and experience with large datasets.
• Demonstrated expertise in SOX compliance and ERP systems, with SAP experience preferred.
