Informatics and AI Engineer (Biotherapeutics)

Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States; hybrid role requiring residence within commuting distance and on-site work an average of 2.5 days per week or more as needed.

Salary: $106,000–$176,600 annual base salary, plus a 15% bonus target and eligibility for a share-based long-term incentive program.

What you will do

• Build, support, and scale a modern data platform for correlation and analysis of biologic drug modality data.
• Develop data products, machine learning methods, and analysis pipelines using agentic AI.
• Curate and integrate public-domain datasets with proprietary research data.
• Implement, test, and validate data analysis and visualization methods.
• Improve data capture, metadata tagging, governance, validation, and storage strategies with the Digital organization.
• Collaborate with external companies and academic institutions, and support platform onboarding through workshops, hackathons, training, and scientific talks.

Requirements

• PhD in biology, chemistry, physics, statistics, or a related technical discipline, or a master’s degree with at least 2 years of experience building AI-powered research applications.
• Strong data handling, integration, analysis, governance, and validation experience.
• Thorough understanding of drug discovery and biology, especially large-molecule therapeutics such as peptides and antibodies.
• Experience with LLMs, agentic AI, MCP/RAG systems, Python, SQL, databases, ETL frameworks, and data warehouses.
• Strong full-stack development skills and the ability to communicate technical work to scientists with diverse expertise.
• Permanent U.S. work authorization is required; U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Front-end technologies, browser-based visualization, Python scientific libraries, and Nextflow.
• Software engineering, package development, cloud architecture, CI/CD, Linux, containerization, and HPC experience.
• Experience with Claude Code or equivalent agentic coding paradigms.
• Experience taking research ideas from prototype to production and communicating results through publications, presentations, or documentation.
