Senior Software Engineer (TypeScript)

Location: Remote - Canada; flexible work hours and location within the stated remote arrangement.

What you will do

• Set technical strategy and direction for critical integration platform areas.
• Design and evolve APIs, shared primitives, and self-service development paths for internal teams, partners, and customers.
• Build authentication, data-ingestion, and schema-evolution primitives for secure and reliable integrations.
• Develop scalable backend services and developer tooling, including CI/CD, using TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
• Drive performance, operational excellence, and software development lifecycle best practices.
• Mentor engineers, lead complex projects, and establish reusable design patterns.

Requirements

• 8+ years of backend development experience building reliable, scalable, and fault-tolerant systems.
• Deep experience with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, SDKs, platform abstractions, and authentication protocols including OAuth, API keys, and JWT.
• Experience building resilient integrations and data ingestion from cloud providers, HRIS platforms, identity providers, and code repositories.
• Knowledge of rate limiting, retries, idempotency, webhooks, schema drift, security, and reliability engineering.
• Experience leading teams and complex projects and influencing decisions across an organization.
• Ability to create sample integrations, proofs of concept, AI skills, documentation, and workshops for internal engineering enablement.
