Senior Software Engineer (TypeScript)

What you will do

• Design and implement algorithms and systems for framing and structural analysis, from early prototypes through a shippable MVP.
• Use AI-assisted workflows while owning the correctness, maintainability, and behavior of shipped code.
• Translate structural and framing systems into robust software using engineering judgment.
• Partner with product, customer success, and engineering teams to define expected behavior, identify gaps, and improve customer outcomes.
• Write tests covering complex corner cases and help establish the technical direction of a growing team.
• Navigate changing scope and priorities on an emerging team while mentoring others as the team develops.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States for this remote role.
• 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience, ideally with TypeScript.
• Structural or mechanical engineering experience from academic or professional work.
• Familiarity with computational geometry and mathematical modeling.
• Experience with modern development tools and AI-assisted workflows, with clear ownership of code correctness and maintainability.
• Ability to operate amid ambiguity and communicate tradeoffs, timelines, and technical decisions clearly.

Nice to have

• Experience building framing, structural analysis, or CAD/CAM tooling.
• Experience with C# or Python and willingness to work with TypeScript and React.
• Interest in homebuilding, construction, or home design.
