Manager 2, Software Engineering (AI Driven Development)

Location: New York, New York, United States

Salary: $208,000–$281,500 base pay annually, plus potential cash bonus, equity rewards, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead, grow, and develop a large engineering organization across multiple pods and technical leads.
• Build and operate automated sales tax determination, calculation, reporting, payment, and e-filing systems.
• Align roadmaps, resolve dependencies, and collaborate with Program Management, Business Analysts, Development Managers, and other cross-functional partners.
• Drive engineering standards for code quality, testing, architecture reviews, operational excellence, and delivery execution.
• Lead adoption of GenAI platforms and AI-assisted workflows, including intelligent features and automated testing approaches.
• Guide technical decisions and deliver reliable customer-facing products for indirect tax compliance.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience as a people manager or established technical leader of software engineering teams.
• 8–12+ years of hands-on software development experience building reliable, scalable backend systems.
• Strong background in distributed systems, microservices, SaaS architecture, and software design.
• Experience with frontend technologies, Agile development methodologies, and SaaS technologies.
• Experience leading large engineering organizations, including managers or technical leads, and managing multiple concurrent workstreams.
• BSc/MSc in Computer Science or equivalent work-related experience.

Nice to have

• Experience in tax, fintech, payments, or other regulated and compliance-driven domains.
• Experience working with global teams.
• Practical experience with LLM integrations, AI-driven development tools, or AI-based automated testing models.
