Principal Software Engineer (Agentic AI)

Location: Hybrid in Seattle, Washington, or San Jose, California, United States

Salary: USD 220,000–250,000 base compensation, plus performance-based bonus and benefits

What you will do

• Lead the development of core platforms and services for intelligent networking, agentic automation, and cloud-native systems.
• Design systems that process large volumes of real-time network and operational data.
• Build scalable, secure, reliable, observable, and adaptable distributed systems for enterprise use cases.
• Develop event-driven microservices, distributed data platforms, real-time analytics, and intelligent automation capabilities.
• Build generative AI and agentic systems supporting tool use, planning, memory, retrieval, orchestration, evaluation, and production deployment.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership on complex, ambiguous problems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of software development lifecycle experience and 8+ years of programming experience.
• 5+ years of experience leading the design and architecture of large-scale distributed systems, preferably on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language, preferably Python, Java, Go, or C++.
• Experience with real-time microservices, stream processing, distributed data platforms, cloud infrastructure, AI or agentic systems, network telemetry, or large-scale analytics.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship and H-1B sponsorship are not available.

Nice to have

• Master’s or PhD in a relevant technical discipline.
• Experience with networking, network management, observability, telemetry, cloud infrastructure, or distributed control-plane systems.
• Experience with Kafka, Spark, Flink, PySpark, MapReduce, or comparable distributed data technologies.
• Experience working with large-scale real-world datasets and production systems that translate data into actionable insights or automated outcomes.
