Kansas Licensed Counselor

Location: Overland Park, Kansas, USA — onsite. Early schedule: 5:00 a.m.–1:30 p.m., Monday–Friday.

Salary: $28.00–$30.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Conduct individual alcohol and drug abuse counseling and group sessions.
• Orient patients to treatment programs and provide intake, readmission, and follow-up counseling.
• Assess social, educational, economic, and vocational information and develop or revise treatment plans.
• Provide crisis intervention, referrals, follow-up, and coordination with community providers.
• Maintain patient records, complete inter-agency documentation, and comply with regulatory and accrediting standards.
• Support program implementation, caseload management, staff training, OBOT services, and community activities.

Requirements

• Current Kansas counseling credentials or licensure required, including tLAC, LAC, PLPC, LPC, LMAC, or LMSW, as applicable.
• Human-service-related bachelor's or master's degree, according to state requirements.
• Knowledge of human behavior, substance use disorders, treatment planning, and human social services.
• Ability to make effective decisions, handle confidential and sensitive matters, and respond quickly in stressful situations.
• Ability to comply with federal and state certification, licensure, degree, and regulatory requirements.
• Behavioral health experience is preferred but not required.
