Software Simulation Lead (MBSE)

Location: Onsite in Huntsville, Alabama, on Redstone Arsenal; candidates must be U.S. residents or able to relocate to the area.

What you will do

• Lead development and maintenance of the government’s authoritative system model using MBSE principles and tools such as SysML.
• Architect the digital engineering environment and integrate government and contractor models into a cohesive digital thread.
• Provide technical oversight of contractor software development, modeling and simulation models, and deliverable simulation tools.
• Lead the formal VV&A effort, including planning, scheduling, and coordination with verification and accreditation organizations.
• Review software architecture and development against Army standards such as MOSA, witness software qualification testing, and chair the Software Change Control Board.
• Coordinate software material release, technical data package delivery, data rights, and integration with Army IBCS and other command-and-control systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science, or another applicable STEM field with at least 5 years of experience.
• Experience managing system models with MBSE tools such as Cameo, MagicDraw, or Rhapsody.
• Experience leading or participating in a formal DoD VV&A process and overseeing contractor software development on a DoD acquisition program.
• Expert knowledge of Army digital engineering strategies, technical standards, and MOSA principles, plus understanding of the DoD acquisition lifecycle and OTA agreements.
• U.S. citizenship and an active SECRET security clearance required.
• Availability to travel 15–20% of the time.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in software engineering with 10+ years of experience.
• Understanding of program planning and execution, systems engineering, design processes, weapon system integration, and performance assessment.
• Ability to absorb extensive technical detail and formulate executable solutions within prescribed schedules.
