Sr. Software Solution Lead Engineer (Automotive): Developing and defining advanced software features for low voltage infrastructure across electric, internal combustion, and autonomous vehicles with an accent on requirements definition, design, and implementation. Focus on Behavior Driven Development (BDD), Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and ensuring robust subsystem integration.

Location: Hybrid in Milford, Michigan. Must be legally allowed to work in the US and able to travel to Canada.

What you will do

• Create and maintain Behavior Technical Specifications (BTS) following BDD principles and leading stakeholder discussions.
• Develop Sub-System Technical Specifications (SSTS) and other requirements using tools like DOORS Next Gen.
• Design and sustain MBSE diagrams (Block Definition, Use-case, Activity, Internal Block) using Rhapsody.
• Establish and uphold Subsystem/Solution Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEAs) using FIT.
• Collaborate with Controls and Software Engineers to review designs and ensure compliance with requirements.
• Support root cause analysis for sub-system issues and translate resolutions into revised requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Systems, Mechatronic, Controls, Electrical, Software, or Mechanical).
• Minimum of 6+ years of relevant experience with mechatronic systems or subsystems.
• Basic knowledge of controls theory and the software development process.
• Must be legally allowed to work in the US and able to travel to Canada.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in Engineering (Systems, Mechatronics, or Controls).
• Experience in power distribution, vehicle electrical systems, and controller networks.
• Proficiency with BDD, TDD, and Gherkin syntax.
• Experience with simulation tools like Matlab/Simulink, CarSim, D-Space, or ETAS.
• Familiarity with vehicle network protocols: Ethernet, CAN, LIN, and SPI.
