Java Engineer (Java)

Location: Sofia or Varna, Bulgaria; the work model prioritizes in-person collaboration.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and operate a highly available enterprise platform.
• Refine user stories, participate in Agile ceremonies, and deliver new features.
• Write clean, modular, maintainable, and testable Java code.
• Design and support REST APIs and web services using established standards and tools such as Postman.
• Contribute to platform operations, troubleshoot technical issues, and maintain high availability.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, operations specialists, business stakeholders, and customer representatives.

Requirements

• Strong experience with Java 11 or higher, preferably Java 11 or Java 17.
• Experience developing and maintaining enterprise applications with Java EE.
• Experience designing and developing REST APIs and web services, plus knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Experience with Git and version control, as well as CI/CD practices and tools such as Jenkins or Maven.
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and effective teamwork.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher and availability to work in Sofia or Varna, Bulgaria.

Nice to have

• Experience with JSF, Oracle ADF, Oracle PL/SQL, JDBC, XML, XSD, JSON, and Postman.
• Experience with open-source frameworks, production application support, and operational activities.
