Technical Trainer (Medical Devices)

Location: On-site in Rolling Meadows, Illinois; applicants are expected to live within a reasonable commuting distance. Up to 50% travel is required.

Salary: $75,000–$88,000 per year.

What you will do

• Deliver hands-on and virtual instructor-led training to biomedical engineers, technicians, customers, distributors, business partners, and internal teams.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for ventilators and provide training on aspirators, defibrillators, and other Acute Care Technology products.
• Teach device operation, hardware and software functionality, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and service procedures.
• Create courseware using LMS tools, PowerPoint, Excel, graphics, multimedia, and e-learning platforms.
• Support technical service and troubleshooting teams, manage training equipment inventory, and participate in cross-functional meetings.
• Train new hires, assess and certify trainers, and revise curricula to improve training effectiveness.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is strongly preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience as a technical trainer, service technician, or in a relevant role is preferred.
• Background in electronics or clinical/biomedical engineering.
• Experience with technical writing, classroom instruction, customer-facing technical expertise, and training software.
• Experience with mechanical ventilators as a technician or respiratory therapist is preferred.
• Ability to work on-site in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, within reasonable commuting distance.

• Experience delivering instructor-led, virtual, and hands-on technical training.
• Experience training customers, public audiences, and internal teams.
