Staff Engineer, System Reliability (Aerospace)

Location: Dallas, Texas; on-site

Salary: $140,000–$210,000 per year, plus bonus, benefits, and equity for regular employees.

What you will do

• Build and maintain the V-BAT system reliability model using field and industry failure-rate data.
• Create system fault trees to identify single points of failure and quantify their impact on reliability.
• Provide Design-for-Reliability guidance and inform design, production, and sustainment decisions.
• Partner with Design, Fleet Support, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering on field-failure investigations and corrective actions.
• Lead reliability testing and production screening campaigns, including HASS and ESS.
• Track MTBF, failure-rate trends, reliability growth, and overall reliability risk for program leadership.

Requirements

• B.S. degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of reliability or surety engineering experience in defense, aerospace, automotive, medical-device, or another high-consequence industry.
• Expertise in Fault Tree Analysis, FMECA, and MTBF calculations.
• Experience building reliability models from field and test data and translating results into design and production decisions.
• Ability to work on-site in Dallas, Texas.

Nice to have

• Experience with RAM modeling, Weibull analysis, and reliability analysis tools such as Relyence, ReliaSoft, Weibull++, or Windchill Risk & Reliability.
• Familiarity with MIL-HDBK-217, 217Plus, and MIL-STD-756.
• Experience with FRACAS and Failure Review Boards.
• CRE certification or experience with unmanned aircraft, aerospace, or other mission-critical hardware.
