Commercial Underwriter - Native American Gaming Banking and Gaming

Location: Fully onsite in Scottsdale, Arizona

Salary: $70,000–$120,000 per year, with possible performance-based incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Analyze business, industry, financial, and credit information for new and renewal requests across working capital, asset-based, real estate, equipment, governmental, tax revenue, gaming, and tribal enterprise financings.
• Prepare concise credit recommendations, including quantitative underwriting narratives, dual risk ratings, loan coding, and identification and mitigation of policy and guideline exceptions.
• Spread financial statements and income tax returns, calculate covenants, and monitor borrower performance against loan documents and approval conditions.
• Collaborate with Portfolio Managers, CSMs, and Commercial and Native American Banking Relationship Managers to identify risks, structure loans, and support credit approvals.
• Participate in customer and prospect calls, obtain missing financial information, and identify relationship expansion and ancillary product opportunities.
• Maintain compliance with bank policies, the Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, and other applicable regulations; coach or train others when requested.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of commercial credit analysis or underwriting experience, or equivalent.
• Intermediate accounting skills and knowledge.
• Experience spreading company and personal financial statements, including tax returns, using Moody’s Risk Analyst or a comparable tool.
• Basic experience analyzing and monitoring commercial lines of credit, term loans, income-property real estate, nonprofit lending, or other specialty lending.
• Ability to collaborate across the company and communicate effectively in written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation settings.
• Experience with bank credit policies, procedures, documentation, and business software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
