Software Engineer 4 - Contingent (Java/Python)

Location: Hybrid in Iselin, New Jersey (primary) or Charlotte, North Carolina, with 3 days onsite

What you will do

• Develop production-quality software in Java, Python, or both, spending approximately 80% of the time coding.
• Analyze requirements and collaborate directly with stakeholders to understand business needs.
• Design, develop, test, and implement scalable engineering solutions.
• Support the BMG data center exit and migration initiative.
• Contribute to AI use cases for fraud detection, including strategy and rules-engine platforms.
• Own medium-sized modules, guide other engineers, troubleshoot production issues, and support project milestones.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on Java and Python development experience, preferably with a backend or full-stack focus.
• Proven experience writing production code and delivering hands-on engineering solutions.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take technical ownership.
• Availability for a hybrid schedule with 3 onsite days in Iselin, NJ, or Charlotte, NC.

Nice to have

• GCP or other cloud platform experience.
• MongoDB experience.
• Google, AWS, or other cloud certifications.
• AI/ML engineering or AI-assisted development experience.
• Experience with fraud detection, rules engines, or fintech platforms.
