Senior Software Engineer, Java (AI)

Location: Remote within the USA for residents of CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IL, KS, MA, MD, ME, NJ, NC, NY, OR, TN, TX, VA, or WA; hybrid options are available from offices in Austin, Texas, and Tampa, Florida. Chicago city limits are excluded.

Salary: $160,000–$200,000 per year, depending on location and qualifications.

What you will do

• Extend platform capabilities through manifest-driven development.
• Build Python workers for third-party integrations.
• Develop Java and Kotlin backend services that expose platform functions for extensibility.
• Collaborate with AI workflow, server, and platform teams.
• Participate in architecture and design reviews for scalable, API-first software.
• Troubleshoot production issues using logs, metrics, and traces.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of Java software development experience with solid Kotlin expertise.
• 4+ years working with highly scalable software systems.
• Experience with AI tooling, object-oriented design, scalable data structures, REST services, and relational databases.
• Experience with client- and server-side development, caching systems, and quality testing practices.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident; visa sponsorship is not available.
