Senior Financial Analyst, Interior

Location: Based at hirify.global Okanagan Campus in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada

Salary: CAD $7,727.33–$11,112.00 monthly

What you will do

• Prepare budgets, forecasts, variance analyses, financial reports, and five-year plans for Interior medical education and research portfolios.
• Monitor cash flow, spending, funding allocations, risks, and recovery plans across multiple programs and units.
• Build complex budget models, funding arrangements, cost-sharing analyses, and what-if and sensitivity scenarios.
• Develop reporting tools and improve financial systems and processes using advanced Excel and university finance systems.
• Support research finance, including grant planning, forecasting, reporting, closures, and interpretation of grant restrictions.
• Advise faculty leadership, management, external funding partners, and non-financial stakeholders on financial decisions and risks.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline and completion of an accredited accounting program such as CA, CGA, or CMA.
• At least five years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with budgeting, financial analysis, fund accounting, financial tracking, reporting systems, and complex financial matters.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and analytical tools, with experience consolidating data from multiple sources.
• Ability to interpret financial data, manage risks, develop recommendations, communicate financial concepts, and work independently.
• Ability to manage staff performance and collaborate with senior leadership, financial colleagues, health authorities, ministries, and other partners.

Nice to have

• Experience in post-secondary education, healthcare, research finance, or large ERP systems.
• hirify.global FMS certification or familiarity with hirify.global administrative policies and procedures.
