Automation Engineer II (Biomanufacturing)

Salary: $70,000–$107,500 per year

What you will do

• Lead or support the design, optimization, commissioning, and validation of new and existing manufacturing equipment.
• Support PLC, SCADA, HMI, server, database, historian, visualization, and other automation systems.
• Define requirements and execute projects with MS&T, Engineering, Digital, Quality, Validation, and other stakeholders.
• Review and approve requirements, specifications, drawings, coding procedures, qualification documentation, and SOPs.
• Troubleshoot automation issues, implement temporary and permanent fixes, and drive productivity, quality, waste, and cost improvements.
• Lead investigations and audits, interact with regulatory agencies, and provide rotating 24/7 on-call support.

Requirements

• Experience supporting manufacturing operations in a regulated or cGMP environment.
• Experience with one or more automation platforms such as Rockwell, Inductive Ignition, Aveva Wonderware, Siemens, Emerson, or B&R.
• Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail and willingness to learn manufacturing technologies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Sponsorship or support for work authorization, including visas, is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with FactoryTalk Batch.
• Experience with Aveva PI or OSI PI Data Historian and visualization systems.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL database design.
• Knowledge of GAMP 5, ISA standards, change control, deviation, CAPA, validation, and qualification principles.
