TL;DR
Manufacturing Automation Engineer (Aerospace): Transforming manual production procedures into scalable automated processes using robotics, software, and an internal AI client with an accent on equipment integration, control systems, and manufacturing data connectivity. Focus on leading automation projects from concept through commissioning, integrating equipment with MES and ERP systems, and improving efficiency, safety, reliability, throughput, and downtime.

Location: Onsite at hirify.global’s Highland Heights facility near Cleveland, Ohio, United States. Relocation assistance is available.

Salary: $100,000–$125,000 annually.

What you will do

  • Analyze manual production procedures and identify opportunities to implement scalable automation across four production floors.
  • Conduct time studies and PFMEAs, establish performance baselines, and track efficiency, downtime, throughput, and other KPIs.
  • Define technical specifications, evaluate equipment and vendor proposals, prepare capital expense requests, and integrate, program, commission, and verify new equipment.
  • Integrate automation equipment with plant networks, MES, ERP, and data systems in collaboration with IT and Software Engineering.
  • Lead cross-functional automation projects from concept through handover, managing scope, schedules, budgets, risks, stakeholders, and acceptance metrics.
  • Ensure safety, AS9100 process compliance, documentation quality, training, operational readiness, and ongoing automation performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Automation, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience, including industrial or manufacturing automation, equipment specification, and project delivery.
  • Knowledge of PLC, HMI, robotics, control systems, and integration with IT systems.
  • Strong project management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance is required.
  • Access to U.S. export-controlled information is required.

Nice to have

  • Basic knowledge of ISO 9001 or AS9100.
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing or aerospace and defense manufacturing.
