Senior Controls Manufacturing Engineer (Medical Devices)

Location: North Haven, Connecticut, United States; minimum 5 days per week onsite.

Salary: $102,400–$153,600 annual base salary, plus eligibility for the hirify.global Incentive Plan.

What you will do

• Provide electrical and controls engineering support for multiple manufacturing areas.
• Design, implement, support, and troubleshoot Cognex and Keyence vision systems, fiber optic and laser sensors, safety circuits, and automated manufacturing equipment.
• Design manufacturing processes, production layouts, equipment installations, machining, material-handling workflows, and sequences of operations.
• Lead or support cost-saving initiatives, process improvements, equipment retrofits, and procurement and implementation of new equipment.
• Inspect machinery and equipment performance, investigate deficiencies, and initiate corrective actions to improve quality, uptime, yield, and cycle time.
• Develop engineering standards, validation documents, IQ protocols, operating instructions, electrical schematics, equipment specifications, parameter settings, and software backups.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience, Master’s degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or PhD with no prior relevant experience required.
• Experience supporting manufacturing equipment, processes, and production layouts.
• Processes and procedures must comply with applicable regulations and Environmental Health and Safety requirements.
• Unrestricted U.S. work authorization is required at hiring and throughout employment; sponsorship is not available for roles below Principal level.
• For degrees earned outside the United States, the degree must satisfy the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A).

Nice to have

• PLC/HMI programming and troubleshooting experience in automated manufacturing.
• Experience with robotics, vision systems, motion control, or industrial networking.
• Experience in regulated medical device or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Familiarity with equipment validation, change control, quality systems, MES, SQL, Python, or Power BI.
• Experience leading cross-functional projects and mentoring others.
