Technical Program Manager (Multimodal Data Collection)

Location: New York, United States; the role includes onsite production and remote working.

What you will do

• Own large-scale video, audio, and multimodal data programs from client brief and pilot through onsite production, processing, and final delivery.
• Design operations covering participants, activities, locations, recording hardware, field teams, vendors, logistics, and quality controls.
• Develop natural, repeatable activity scenarios and participant protocols that capture authentic behavior.
• Translate technical specifications into capture protocols covering video and audio quality, device configuration, synchronization, metadata, and acceptance criteria.
• Own program economics, including costing, collection yield, rejection and rework, hardware utilization, and margin.
• Run pilots and quality gates, resolve operational and technical issues, and lead client delivery recommendations.

Requirements

• Significant experience owning complex video or audio data collection, technical production, or real-world capture programs at scale.
• Experience running onsite or field-based operations with participants, physical locations, recording equipment, and production or field teams.
• Hands-on experience with video and audio capture hardware, including resolution, frame rate, audio quality, device configuration, synchronization, and data integrity.
• Experience converting technical or research specifications into participant protocols, production workflows, and measurable quality criteria.
• Commercial ownership of operational programs, including bottom-up costing, forecasting, rejection, and rework.
• Experience delivering at scale against quality, diversity, and acceptance requirements while working with clients or senior stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience collecting human video, audio, or multimodal data for AI/ML, computer vision, robotics, or embodied AI.
• Experience with egocentric video, body-worn or wearable cameras, and multi-camera recording.
• Experience coordinating filming environments, participant recruitment, permits, equipment, and external production vendors.
• Experience working with Product or Engineering on data ingest, metadata, file formats, batch processing, or data transfer.
• Experience scaling a collection methodology from pilot to thousands of hours of production data.
