Staff Technical Program Manager (Robotics): Leading MLOps, ML infrastructure, and perception programs for Apollo humanoid robots with an accent on robot learning, system integration, and strategic AI partnerships. Focus on building program operations for a new Sunnyvale site, coordinating cloud and edge ML systems, and delivering complex hardware-software programs across engineering, research, and external partners.

Location: Sunnyvale, California, United States; first TPM for the newly opened Sunnyvale office

Annual compensation: $250,000–$285,000

Company

Develop humanoid robots powered by applied AI, with Apollo initially serving manufacturing and logistics and planned applications in healthcare, homes, and other environments.

What you will do

  • Establish program management structures, operating rhythms, and execution practices for the new Sunnyvale site.
  • Own end-to-end MLOps and ML infrastructure programs covering data pipelines, training and evaluation infrastructure, model releases, and robot learning tooling.
  • Lead perception program execution for humanoid robotics, including roadmaps, milestones, and integration into the full robot stack.
  • Serve as the primary program interface for a strategic AI partner, managing joint roadmaps, dependencies, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate engineering, research, operations, executive, and external stakeholders while communicating risks, trade-offs, and decisions.
  • Mentor TPMs and improve program management frameworks, tooling, and practices as the Sunnyvale team grows.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in technical program management or engineering management, with senior- or staff-level experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or Applied Physics.
  • Deep experience leading ML lifecycle programs across data collection, training and evaluation infrastructure, edge inference, model deployment, and data pipelines.
  • Experience leading perception and sensing programs involving computer vision, sensor fusion, tactile or multimodal sensing, state estimation, or scene understanding.
  • Experience coordinating AI/ML, software, firmware, controls, and hardware teams across complete product lifecycles.
  • Experience managing external technical partners, cross-organizational dependencies, resource constraints, and complex system integration.

Nice to have

  • Experience in robotics, autonomous systems, or embodied AI.
  • Experience with robot learning, manipulation or dexterous systems, VLA models, or large-scale ML data and training programs.
  • Experience with edge AI inference platforms and embedded systems integration.
  • Master’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science.

Culture & Benefits

  • Direct-hire employment position.
  • High-autonomy, high-visibility work at the intersection of AI/ML infrastructure, perception, and robotics.
  • Opportunity to shape program management practices and site operations as the Sunnyvale team scales.
  • Work includes prolonged desk and computer use, occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds, and communication requirements.
