What you will do

• Synthesize, isolate, and purify novel small molecules for early drug discovery projects.
• Document laboratory work accurately and promptly in an electronic notebook.
• Analyze and troubleshoot chemical reactions with the supervisor.
• Characterize compounds using LCMS and NMR data.
• Present scientific results to internal teams and collaborate on project goals and milestones.
• Maintain, receive, and distribute small-molecule compounds while operating robotic systems and acoustic liquid handlers.

Requirements

• BS/BA in Chemistry or a closely related field with 2+ years of postgraduate organic or medicinal chemistry research experience, or an MS in Chemistry with no postgraduate experience required.
• Experience with multi-step chemical synthesis.
• Experience with normal-phase and reverse-phase chromatography and HPLC purification.
• Experience obtaining, interpreting, and analyzing LCMS and NMR spectra.
• Successful communication of scientific results and positive collaboration in team settings.
• Strong accountability, self-motivation, attention to detail, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Industry experience.
• Experience in medicinal chemistry.
