2027 Spring - Co-op IDD Medicinal Chemistry

Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States; onsite, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Must be able to relocate to the office location for the full six-month co-op.

Salary: $29–$35 per hour, commensurate with demonstrated experience.

What you will do

• Synthesize small-molecule targets and drug candidates using reaction and reagent databases.
• Purify and characterize compounds and intermediates using suitable laboratory techniques.
• Develop and apply analytical methods for structural characterization, including NMR and LCMS interpretation.
• Register compounds in corporate databases and maintain electronic laboratory notebooks according to SOPs.
• Use internal tools to understand SAR and collaborate on designing compounds that address project challenges.
• Follow HSE guidelines and company compliance requirements while working safely and efficiently in the laboratory.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field, with expected graduation in 2027 or 2028.
• Must be permanently authorized to work in the United States and must not require employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Must remain enrolled at an accredited college or university throughout the co-op.
• Must be available onsite in Cambridge for the full six-month duration and work 40 hours per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with synthetic organic chemistry and purification methods such as silica gel chromatography.
• Experience using NMR, LCMS, and other analytical instruments to interpret data and characterize novel compounds.
